Jonilka Banet Calcano Obituary

Jonilka “Joni” Banet Calcano, 33, was born on December 17, 1991, in New York City to her parents, Ana María Felix and Fernando Calcano of the Dominican Republic, and passed away on January 23, 2025. Jonilka was raised in Providence, Rhode Island, alongside her younger sister, Elta, where she cultivated her creativity and developed a vast love for artistry, photography, music, and nature. Jonilka was a loving, humble, silly, strong-willed, and free-spirited soul who found beauty in mysticism and the world around her. Her resiliency and authenticity left a lasting impact on those fortunate to know her. She is survived by her parents, Ana María and Fernando; her sisters, Elta and Fernanda; and her brothers, Vladimir and Fernando. Jonilka left this world too soon, leaving behind an unfillable void, and will be missed beyond measure. She is flying towards another dimension.
