Obituary of Helen Marion Desorcy
Helen M. Desorcy, 85, of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025. She was born in Providence and was the daughter of the late Stephen and Josephine (Hawrylik) Smola. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Robert Desorcy. She leaves her loving sons Robert Desorcy (Lisa), David Desorcy and his wife Amy, Stephen Desorcy and his wife Diana, and Michael Desorcy and his wife Jessica. She was the loving grandmother of Robert, Brandon, Grace, and her husband Harrison, Matthew, Zachary, Eve, Benjamin, and Jackson.
Helen was raised by her father after losing her mother at the age of six. She was deeply appreciative for all that he did for her as a child and as an adult. After losing her mother at such a young age, it was important for her to be there for her own children as much as possible, whether it was at Little League games, Cub Scout meetings, school and church events, or simply just being there when they got home from school. She truly dedicated her life to her children. Although small in stature, she was one of the strongest women you would ever meet and was thankful to her Dad for passing that on to her. Helen was the very definition of a lady, as she was filled with grace, kindness, and love. You would be hard-pressed to find a single person who knew her and didn’t love her. She will be truly missed but never forgotten.
