Obituary of Neil Robert MacDonald

Please share a memory of Neil to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Neil Macdonald, 65, of Cumberland, passed away on April 14, 2025. Born in Foxboro, MA, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Lock) MacDonald. He was the kind of man who never let anyone down—whether at work, where he led construction crews with strength and experience, or at home, where he was a constant source of support and love. He was the lead foreman at Hanlon Homes, INC., where he used his high level of expertise in plastering and building of all kinds. He had an eye for creativity.

Neil’s legacy is one of loyalty and sacrifice. He worked long hours without complaint, dropped everything for anyone in need, and gave of himself in ways big and small. He was the loving father of Craig Houghton, Emilee Martin and her husband, Iain Martin, Mollie MacDonald and her fiancé, Jose Sanchez, and Cassaundra Houghton, beloved grandfather to nine grandchildren, and beloved brother to Alex Macdonald, Ian MacDonald, George MacDonald, Eric MacDonald, Laura MacDonald, and Margaret MacDonald. Neil was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
