Angelo Rainone Obituary

Angelo Rainone, the owner of S & A Printing, passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 98. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Tremblay) Rainone. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Elvira (Sylvestri) Rainone. Angelo served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a long-time parishioner at Holy Cross Church, Providence. He leaves his loving children, Joseph, Diane, Peter, and Susan Rainone; his sister, Anna Mansolillo; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Angelo was a very active man and loved competition. He bowled in several leagues with his son and nephews and enjoyed golfing in his Wednesday night league. As a Navy radio operator in WWII he listened to Morse code nonstop during his shift and had to get it right every time since the encrypted text and numbers contained orders for the entire fleet. He played saxophone in the Navy band and later in his own jazz band called the Rhythmeers until he married Rita and had to support his family. He never missed his grandson’s basketball and baseball games, along with his granddaughter’s sporting events. Angelo will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

His Funeral will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 8:45 am from Mount Pleasant Funeral and Cremation Service, 168 Academy Ave, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Cross Church, 118 King Philip Street, Providence. The burial will take place at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston with military honors. A visitation will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 5–8 pm.
