William D. Green, 77, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017. He was the husband of the late Jane (Stewart) Green. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late David and Mary (Matakas) Green. William was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He then worked as a Providence Police Officer for 20 years, retiring in 1985.
He is survived by three children, Donna, William, and Thomas Green, and one granddaughter, Brittney Green. He was the father of the late Michael Green and brother of the late Charles and Mary Green.
