Jean P. Goulet, 84, of Providence, passed away December 30, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Claire (Bradley) Goulet. They were happily married for 65 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Jean and Amanda (Lemieux) Goulet. Jean was an engineer for ITT Grinnell Corporation for 37 years, retiring in 1997. He was an umpire in the RI Interscholastic League for 45 years. He was a member of the Amateur Softball Umpires Assn., the RI Baseball Umpires Assn., and the RI Softball Umpires Assn. Jean was a longtime member of Triggs Memorial Golf Course. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Michelle Gates, Maurice, Robert, Kathleen, and Michael Goulet, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Suzanne Kowalik. The funeral will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 9AM in the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 901 Atwells Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in Saint Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Friday from 4-7pm in the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence.
