Peter Matarese, 93, formerly of Fallon Avenue, Providence, passed away Tuesday August 7, 2018. He was the husband of the late Vincenza (Della Ventura) Matarese. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Filippo and Anna (Calise) Matarese. Peter was a WWII Army Veteran. He then worked for the City of Providence for many years before retiring. He will be sadly missed by his family. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Mary-Ann Matarese; two grandsons, Michael P. Matarese, and Anthony R. Matarese; his great grandson Zachariah; and his brother, Vincent Matarese. He was the father of the late Peter P. Matarese and brother of the late Gino Matarese, and Marie Neri. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, August 11 from 8-9:30am in the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
