Obituary of Gilberta L. Dube
Please share a memory of Gilberta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gilberta (Giroux) Dube, “Jill,” 101, of Providence, passed away at Steere House on November 12th and will be missed dearly by all who loved her.
Born in Swanton, Vermont in 1917, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Heali) Giroux. She was the youngest daughter of eight children. Jill married her late husband Joseph Dube in 1941 and eventually settled in North Scituate where she raised six children: Joseph Dube (wife Donna), Barbara Navas (late husband Fred), Jeanne Dube (husband Bill), John Dube, Diane Dube (husband Scott) and Doreen Dube (husband Kevin). She was equally adored by her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, square-dancing, baking and playing cards. Jill’s journey on this earth was blessedly long, touching generation after generation in her family. They all could not feel more fortunate and grateful.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 17th at 10:30AM in the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, RI. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held from 9AM-10:30AM prior to the service in the funeral home.
