Donald Potter, Sr., 79, passed away peacefully on February 11th, 2020. Donald graduated from Central High School in Providence, RI. He was one of the bricklayers that helped build Rocky Point Amusement Park in Warwick. He spent the majority of his career at American Mathematical Society (AMS) working in Maintenance. He was loved by all employees and was nicknamed "Doc". Donald had a contagious laugh, was a dedicated fan of all New England sports teams, and watched when the "Curse of the Bambino" was broken. He had an impressive knowledge of sports trivia and was an avid softball player and golfer. He was the husband of Melinda for 48 years. He is survived by his children, Steven of Providence, RI, George Potter, and his fiance Jen of Franklin, MA, Michael Potter and his wife Kristy, of Delray Beach, FL, and Donald (Didi) Potter of Providence, RI and by one grandson, Nathan. He is also survived by his brother Kenny Potter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Jessie, and his sister, Barbara of RI. Services are private. Donations can be mailed in Donald's memory payable to Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822-9712. *Please add a note with Donald Potter's name.*
