Obituary of Debra Harrington

Debra A. Harrington, 65, of East Providence, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital after a brief, sudden illness with her daughter and nephew by her side. She was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Morra) McMahon. Debbie was married to the late James Harrington for 30 years until his passing in September of 2019.
Debbie grew up in Warren, RI and was a member of the Warren High School Class of 1972. Debbie was a dedicated member of the Rhode Island Civic Chorale for over 40 years, where she served as a member of the Board of Directors and of the "Friends" Committee. She spent countless hours across those 40 years organizing many fundraisers, from trips to Tanglewood to large galas and golf tournaments.
Debbie is survived by her brothers, John (Lisa) and James (Nancy) McMahon. She leaves her daughter, Erin Harrington (William), her step children- Jenn, Julie, and James (Marcia) Harrington. She also leaves her grandson, Ben. She also leaves behind many extended family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She loved them all dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 20 at 10:00am in Immaculate Conception Church (237 Garden Hills Dr. Cranston, RI. 02920). Face masks and social distancing required. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the RI Civic Chorale & Orchestra, 141 Phenix Ave. Cranston, RI. 02920.
