Vito DiCandito of Coventry, RI, passed away on August 8, 2020, at 84 years old. He was the loving husband of the late Anna (Nazarian) DiCandito and companion to the late Carol Tiberi. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Johnson & Wales University. He worked for the US Postal Service as a mail handler for many years at the Providence Main Post Office before retiring in the early 1990s. Vito enjoyed watching horse racing & boxing, cooking, late-night casino trips with his daughter, being with his grandchildren, and he loved spending time on the “Corner” on Federal Hill. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Loggia Luce Moderna #1112 in East Providence and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his daughter Vianne Thibeault, her husband Robert, his grandchildren Cassandra and Robert, his brother John DiCandito, and his sisters Etta Jackvony and Claire Garneau. The family offers a special Thank You to the medical professionals at the Coventry Genesis Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island. Due to COVID, services are private.
