Obituary of Evelyn Edwards

Evelyn Edwards, age 80, of Johnston, RI, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2020. Born in Trinidad, Evelyn was the wife of the late Edwin Edwards. She was the daughter of the late Edmond and Pauline Joseph. Evelyn was a beacon of happiness. She loved to dance and make everyone smile. Evelyn was extremely giving with a heart for serving and helping others. She would not hesitate to share her home or a seat at her table with those in need. Evelyn loved to cook for those she cared about and those lucky enough to enjoy her delicious meals. She will be sorely missed by many. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Shernali Castle and son-in-law Christopher; sons, Anthony Edwards and his wife Michelle, Kent Edwards, and his wife Glenda, Earl Joseph and Wayne Joseph; her siblings Joan, Bernice, and Franklin; nineteen beloved grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Evelyn was the mother of the late Selwyn Joseph and Pearl Joseph-Fortune. Her calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00 pm, in the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, RI 02908.
