Sunrise August 11th, 1946 Sunset January 20th, 2021 Earnestine “Precious” Crader Benton, age 74, of Providence, RI, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, January 20, 2021. Earnestine was born in Gueydan, LA, on August 11, 1946. The daughter of the late Fleta Huntley Crader and Alvin Crader. By her side stands her seven children, three adopted children, twenty-four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. In honor of Earnestine, she worked as a secretary at Providence School Department. A matriarch of the family, Precious was cherished by many. A Phenomenal woman who sassied her way into all of our lives. Her personality spoke volumes that would highlight any room with laughter, love, and a lifetime of wisdom. Cherishing her memories by a loving family. Sons- John David Benton Jr., Jamie Benton, Spouse Charlene, Brook Benton, and Andre Ajay Benton. Daughters- Venessa Benton, Frankie Benton, and Adrienne Benton. Proceeded by her late husband, John David Benton Sr., Mother-in-law Margaret “Ma” Benton, Late Sibling Lester Crader and Brother-in-laws Leon Benton, Roosevelt Bells Benton, Kevin Benton, and Forrest Benton. Left to mourn is her Brother-in-law Joe Benton and a host of relatives and friends. Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at the Truth Tabernacle Church, 542 Potters Avenue, Providence, from 10 o’clock until 12 pm, viewing and followed by a service.
