Irene D. Rondeau, 105, of East Providence, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015. She was the wife of the late Romeo R. Rondeau. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alpha and Dorilla (Dubois) Dufresne. Irene was a secretary for the treasurer of the State of Rhode Island as well as an assistant to two doctors, Dr. George Conde and Dr. George Kirk for many years before retiring. She loved life, adored her family, was full of grace, and always saw the good in everyone. A devout Catholic, her passing on Ash Wednesday couldn't have been more symbolic of the significance of Christ in her life. She is survived by her children, Paul Rondeau and Sylvia Fleurant; a sister, Flore Duguay; 7 grandchildren, including Lisa Fleurant Buxton (Randy), Monique Lucienne Fleurant, Christiane Irene Fleurant-Wilson (Doug Wilson), Danielle Louise Fleurant-Vickers (Thomas Vickers), Catherine Anne Rondeau, Denise Irene Rondeau Salvaggio (Kevin Salvaggio) and Paul Rondeau (Sandra Rondeau); 14 great grandchildren, including Lisa's three children Elizabeth Buxton Carver (Aaron), Samantha Buxton Wolfe (Daniel), and Randy Buxton, Jr; Monique's two sons, Wylder Hoyt Cooper and Hunter Macrae Cooper, and Christiane's two daughters, Morgan Wilson and Madeline Wilson, Denise’s three children, Gianella, Nica, and Dante and Paul's three children Paul, Alex and Zachary; and three great, great grandsons, Nathanael James Carver, William Nell Carver, and Daniel Elijah Wolfe. She was the sister of the late Donald and Rudolph Dufresne. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30am from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Atwells Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 9:30am-10:30 am prior to the mass in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of Mercy, 125 Tyndall Avenue, Providence, RI 02908.
