Gladys Lorraine (Fisher) Johnson, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, March 26. Gladys will be remembered by her loving and kind heart, her beautiful smile and her dedication to her family. She is the daughter of the late Charles Fisher and Edith Griffiths Ervin. Gladys was 92 years old. Born in Groveville, NJ, Gladys spent her life in service to people as a World War II Veteran where she served in the Army Nurse Corps in France. She later spent her nursing career as an operating room nurse and an IV therapy nurse before retiring in 1984 from White Plains Hospital in New York. She spent the last 30 years of her life enjoying her retirement time with her husband Alfred of 65 years, and her family in Dewey Beach, Delaware and Rhode Island. Gladys is survived by her husband, Alfred Johnson, her son Eric Johnson and his wife Maryann, her son Marc Johnson and his wife Carla, her grandchildren, Brian Johnson and his wife Jennifer, Gregory Johnson and his wife Emily, Anna Johnson, Daniela Johnson, Jay Johnson, Autumn Johnson, and one great grandchild Joseph Johnson. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 7, at 10am in the Shepherd of the Valley Church, 604 Seven Mile Road, Hope. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
