Obituary of Louise P. McKay

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On March 22, 2022, the gospel train of Zion stopped by the Manor Nursing Home for Louise P. McKay to deliver her safely to the arms of Jesus. Louise P. (Venter) McKay was born May 6, 1933, to Armand Samuel Venter and Sarah Francis (Smith) Venter. Louise attended Vineyard St. School, Gilbert Jr. High School, and graduated from Central High School, finishing the secretarial course. In 1969, she began her career at Citizens Bank as a bank teller. In 1981, she became the manager of the data security department. After 29 years of service, she retired in 1998. In 1953, Louise married Deacon Clarence J. McKay, and she was the mother of Lawrence C. McKay (Chyonne), Gordon J. McKay, and Walter L. McKay (Nicole). She was the sister of the late Pearl Fridia, Armond Venter Jr., Howard Venter, William Venter, and Raymond Venter. Louise leaves 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and friends to cherish her memory. Louise loved the Lord. She led a life of service to her church, Second Free Will Baptist Church. She served on the deacon board, made the communion bread on 1st Sunday, and served as treasurer for the church as well. Louise also worked with the younger women of the church to develop life skills. She was a spiritual mom to many of those younger women in the Chruch. I’m sure the Lord said to her, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” A Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the Second Freewill Baptist Church, 75 Chester Avenue, Providence, RI 02907, from 10:30am - 12:00pm, followed by a service at 12:00pm. Burial will take place at Swan Point Cemetery. For further information and condolences, please visit mountpleasantfh.com.
