Obituary of Lillian F. Augustyn

Lillian Frances Augustyn, 76, of Providence, peacefully passed away on October 15, 2022, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was born in Providence to the late Stanislaw Augustyn and Anna (Janas) Augustyn on October 4, 1946. Earlier in life, Lillian worked for Speidel (Textron) and Coros and retired as a social worker with the Department of Human Services for the State of Rhode Island. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and taking care of her cats, Julie and Judy.

She is survived by her sister, Stasia G. Machado, niece, Cynthia Machado (partner Eusebio), nephew, Steven Machado (partner Ann), God children Kristina Moyet (partner Kindell) and Eusebio Moyet (partner Amber), great-great nephew Elizah Moyet and great-great niece, Sophia Moyet. 

Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 9:00am from the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Adalbert's church, 866 Atwells Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral & Cremation Services on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 5:00pm -7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Adalbert’s Parish, Providence, or the RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA). The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Cherry Hill care team.
