Charles Chiaverini,92, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015. He was the husband of Eileen (Kells) Chiaverini. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank and Gertrude (Lahiff) Chiaverini. Mr. Chiaverini served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the Lymansville VFW Post in North Providence for many years. His last ship, the USS Qwin, was present along side the USS Missouri at the signing of the Japanese surrender at Tokyo Bay. He was the owner of East Providence Window Cleaning and also owned the Walt’s Roast Beef on Weybossett Street. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. He is survived by three children, David Chiaverini and his wife Mary of California, Thomas Chiaverini of South Carolina and Lori Blais and her husband Edmund of Warwick; five grandchildren, Nathan, Amy, Richard, Paul and Jamie; five great grandchildren, Sophia, Aaron, Charles, Olivia and Isabel; a brother, Frank Chiaverini; three sisters, Gertrude Giordano, Eileen Marrese and Mildred Nunes. He was the father of the late Alison M. Chiaverini and Brenda Knight and brother of the late Eva Miele. The funeral will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 9 AM from the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave., Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 PM.
