As I sat today in Holy Ghost Church waiting for Ernie’s Mass, I could not help thinking about all of our Messenger conversations. He was so fun, sentimental, And enjoyable to visit with. He called me to say Goodbye as we both knew he was dying. We joked about our families and things we remembered from growing up. He had so much dedication in him and always asked about my kids and my brother and his family. How thoughtful he was not to forget them. Today I loved how they played music to note his truthful ways as well as his integrity. I will miss my old friend and chatting about “back in the day”. He was so proud of my accomplishments and I always appreciated that.
I’ll miss you Ernie. Don’t forget you promised to say hi to my parents for me. Love to all your friend, Gail

To the Pennine family-
My deepest condolences after your loss. I had the pleasure of getting to know Ernie at dialysis over the last several years, as we were on the same early morning shift. I always enjoyed visiting with him, his jokes, and stories about growing up on "the hill." He always spoke with great love and fondness about his family- especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a wonderful man and friend, and he will be missed!

There are great memories between our families and all the memories of hanging out with Ernie at Broadway & Vinton and Frank’s gas station. I can't think of a time that I can remember for Ernie to be anything but thoughtful of others. He put his heart into everything he did and he will be greatly missed by everyone. His belief in the Lord will now heal him as he eternally rest. Not sure that he will be resting, lets face it there's a lot of folks he knows up there for him to be socializing with and catching up with. And we know he will reach out to everyone. Gotta love him.
