Ernest J. Pennine II Obituary

Ernest J. Pennine ll, 67, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the Greenwood Center, Warwick. He was the companion of Estelle Bennett.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ernest J. Pennine and Dolores (Gabellieri) Pennine.

Ernie was a longtime employee of Shaw’s Market. He was a past Grand Knight of Fatima Council #4331, a past Faithful Navigator of Rebello Assembly #2808, Color Corp Commander of the Rebello Assembly #2808, Rhode Island State Council Memorials Chairman, RI Scouts Chairman, and enthusiastic supporter for the Family of the Month Program. He was also the Committee Chairman of the Boy Scouts Troop 22 of Cranston. He was a third-generation member of the Holy Name Society at Holy Ghost Church and an avid New York Yankees fan.

Ernie is survived by his children, Jennifer Dunham and her husband Michael of North Carolina, EJ Pennine of Oklahoma, and was predeceased by his infant daughter Stephanie Pennine.

He also leaves his siblings, Michael W. Pennine and his wife Annette of Cranston, Joseph P. Pennine of Cranston, John Pennine and his wife Linda of North Providence, and Mary-Ann Pennine and her husband Dennis Hallam of Cranston and his grandson Peter Dunham and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Monday, February 7, 2022, from the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave., Providence, at 9am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave, Providence, RI, at 10am. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4pm to 6pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. The family requests mask-wearing at all times while at the funeral home and at church. Arrangements by Supinski & Borrelli.
