Louis was one of kind.
I don’t think there was anyone like him. He was truly unique and stood behind his strong beliefs.
He lived life on his terms and always wore a smile!
May he rest in peace.

I worked with Louis for several years at Butler Hospital where I enjoyed his ability to find joy snd humor in every situation; he definitely knew how to brighten everyone’s day. He treated me to a meal in his home once as well. Such a darling person, the world is a darker place without him

I met Louis through a friend. He had a great personality and persona. Parties were more enjoyable with his presence and his cooking skills were gourmet. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Louis.

What a loss to those of us who knew and loved Louis! I'll so miss his steady and faithful presence in the pews at church and hanging out at coffee hour, but one of my favorite memories of Louis will always be his fabulous thurifer skills at St. Stephen's! To see Louis slowly striding down the aisle, leading the procession, doing the occasional 360 with the thurible - now THAT'S how you start a liturgy! I'll miss his inimitable sense of style, but mostly, his gentle smile, incredible humor and encompassing love. It's a comfort for me, knowing how strong Louis' faith was - I don't know that the Lord could've had a more loving servant. Terry, you're in my heart and my prayers always. Rest in peace, dear Louis.

Louis was one of the most optimistic people I’ve ever known. He had a huge heart and a great laugh. He was a fantastic cook: I still remember fondly the absolutely delicious Easter dinner I had at his and Terry’s house many years ago. The lamb—which can be difficult to cook—was amazing. My heartfelt condolences, Terry.— Ed O.

I am so sad to hear about Louis' passing. He always made me laugh and usually loudly where I would embarrass myself. Louis would say, "So what, who cares...laugh!" My condolences to Terry and his family and friends. RIP Louis.

Q: What will you miss most about Louis?
A: The way Louis always had a presance in the room that was so inviting. Being a likeminded individual, could lighten the mood and spirit of any room. Until we meet again Louis, may your strength, kindness, humility, and spirit remind us all of fond rich memories. To Terry, and all friends and family of Louis, don't be sad.

Louis was a fabulous neighbor, a sharing man with an infectious laugh.
I have only known him for six years when I watched him care for his in-laws, and his husband, Terry.
The maker of zucchini breads and Irish soda bread… always sharing.
Will miss the back of your head on the swing on the porch with your honey and you directing traffic from the deck in backyard.
Till later …sending love
